ERKIN KORAY—#2 Heavy Eastern psych from this Turkish legend containing ten of his first recordings that appeared on singles plus 5 bonus tracks circa 1967–’71. You must have this dense hashish-clouded body of work if you are a fan of psych music. Their entire legendary 1967 “Misérablement Votre” album is here (a mixture of snarling punk, cheerful beat and atmospheric ballads) as well as everything else the band recorded before splitting one year later. $18. LIGHT—TURN ON New! Stupendous 25-track compilation from 1967 Southern CA supergroup with all previously unreleased material except for their killer sole single. Includes the awesome “Back Up” punkadelic dazzler, lots of fuzzed-out Music Machine-inspired winners, melodic Left-Banke-styled pop, and music similarities to Moby Grape, Buffalo Springfield, and the Beck-era Yardbirds. NIGHTSHADOWS—VOL 3/THE PSYCHEDELIC YEARS 1967-’69 Authorized reish that includes material from this Atlanta band’s monster psych LP Square Root Of Two which sells for over $1500 these days.
