Rising Storm
Second Wind

'60s Massachusetts Garage Legends First Studio Album in 32 Years
Cat#: AA-083 Year: 1999 Price: $14.
In the spring of 1967, six prep school students from Andover, Massachusetts recorded Calm Before..., cited today as one of the true pinnacles of '60s garage rock with original copies now fetching over $4000 on the collectors market. Now, 32 years later, all six original members have regrouped and come back strong with nine new striking originals, haunting remakes of Love's "Signed D.C." and Them's "Don't Look Back," plus additional bonus live tracks culled from their 1981 and 1992 reunions shows.

Produced by Arf Arf's Erik Lindgren and Boston legend Andy Paley (whose 1972 rocker "Love Starvation" is covered here), Second Wind recaptures the magic and mood of their original prophetic vision. Features biographical 20-page booklet with an in-depth essay by Aram Heller (who also guests on bass).

"While still at prep school in the mid-'60s, this New England group recorded one of the rarest and most respected garage band albums. This effort was distinguished from many other recordings of the sort not by the respectable covers, but by the beautiful, haunting original folk-rock ballads." --All Music Guide to Rock (1995)
